Not everyone is comfortable praying, so …
Here are a few prayers you are welcome to ‘borrow’ for awhile:

Finding a New Start
Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that I have made a mess of my life.  More than anything else I am praying to You for a new beginning – a completely fresh start.  Today I will Trust You to hear me and start a transformation in my heart.  And although others have helped me get to some of the negative places in my life, I will not spend my time blaming them.  Instead I will focus on You and the New Life You want to give me in Jesus Christ.

Accepting Jesus Christ
Lord Jesus, I have come to recognize that my life has not lived up to Your standards of holiness.  I am a sinner.  I believe that You died for my transformation on the Cross, that you were buried and then raised to Life so I can live forever with You.  I now ask you to forgive my sins, bring healing to my life, and transform me into your follower and friend.  I trust in you for all these things, and receive you at this moment as the new Lord of my life!  Thank you, Jesus.  I believe.

Needing God's Peace
Dear God, I am so much in need of peace in my life.  I have people to deal with.  I have deep loss in my life.  I have situations that have mounted to the sky and I cannot see over them.  There is no light at the end of my tunnel and I am anxious and afraid.  Will you please hear my prayers and strengthen my heart and mind?  Will you fill me with Your Supernatural Peace and walk with me? Will you direct my steps into positive places and keep me from retracing the old paths of pain and discouragement?  Will you help me walk with You within the safety of your Presence and power?

Feeling Threatened By Out-Of-Control Events
Dear God, Events have taken my life to places that hurt me deeply and make me afraid. I recognize that You are aware of all my issues. I know also that you are powerful beyond my wildest imagination and that you can bring calm to every storm. In the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, I pray for Your intervention in all the events that threaten me. Give me wisdom to know what You would have me do in these matters – even if You would have me do nothing at all. I will trust You for strength and wisdom, both today and in each day that lies ahead.

Feeling Let Down By Someone I Trusted
Dear God, You have seen how the one I trusted has proven false me. I am in so much pain and confusion that I don’t know where to turn, and am clueless as to how respond to the sudden betrayal. I will desperately need to hold on to You in the hours and days ahead. I recall that You too, experienced denial and betrayal by some of Your closest friends at a moment of intense vulnerability. It is only because You, the Son of God have experienced this same human pain, that I feel I can come to You for help. Grant me spiritual and emotional renewal and give me strength and hope and fresh wisdom for all the healing processes through which I must pass. I pray this in the strong and loving Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

When I Am Fearful
Blessed Father: I confess to that I am such a worrier! I become fearful and troubled by things over which I have no control. Sometimes these are small things in my own life; and at times they are events of mammoth proportion that occur on the world scene. And yet I realize you have given much reassurance and many promises in your Word. I am reminded of John 14:1 where I read, “Let not your heart be troubled …” Then I turn to Isaiah 41:10 where you promise, “Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed … I will strengthen you and help you …” In I Peter 5:7 I find myself actually invited to cast all of my cares on You – because you care for me! II Timothy 1:7 reminds me that “God has not given us a spirit of fear” … and I am chided by I John 4:18 which says “Perfect loves casts out fear.” Father, perfect your love in my heart I pray, so that I will learn to trust and not be afraid. Amen.

When I Am Indifferent
I seem, at times, to be swallowed up in an attitude of apathy, having no interest in the things of God. I confess that I have displayed an indifferent spirit at times. We are instructed to bear one another’s burdens, but I confess that I don’t want to make the effort. I feel bogged down by my own burdens. Help me Lord, in these listless periods to remember to turn to You and Your Word where I am admonished to be fervent in spirit (Romans 12:11) and not be lazy (Hebrews 6:12). I pray as the Psalmist prayed (51:12) “Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation.” Amen.

When I Feel Unappreciated
Heavenly Father: Sometimes it seems that no matter how hard I try to do good deeds or make generous gestures, my efforts go unrecognized and unappreciated by those around me. Thank you for reminding me to look to your Word, the Bible, where I read in Colossians 3:17, “Whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all to the glory of God”. Help me Jesus, not to seek praise and approval for myself from others. May I instead, live my life in a way that will honor You, and bring praise and glory to you. Amen.

When I Feel Deserted
Blessed Jesus: Friends I depended on have truly let me down. I come to you now because of my disappointment, and ask you to just wrap me up in your loving arms. Thank you for promising to be near to me when my heart is aching. You come “closer than a brother”. (Proverbs 18:24) When my spirit is crushed, you soothe me. Your Word says that You draw “near to them who have a broken heart”. (Psalm 43:18) Please put a new song in my heart, Lord, and enable me to live in victory over my disappointments, so that others will see, and will be encouraged to put their trust in you. Amen.

When I Feel The Sameness of Life and Grow Restless
Sometimes the sameness of each day causes a restlessness of spirit inside of me. Help me to recognize each day as a new opportunity for growth. Help me to see Your hand reaching out to me, lifting me to new fields of service. Instill in me a sense of excitement and help me to recall that You have granted me the gift of eternal life. Cause me to recognize the great privilege and obligation I have to share that gift with others. In Your Name I pray this. Amen.

When I Meditate on God's Great Love for His World
Heavenly Father, It comforts me to meditate on Your great love for the World. It especially blesses me when I bring it down to an individual level. It is incomprehensible that You – the Creator of all Heaven and Earth – know me, love me, and have died for me. Such love has no equal in any human heart! There is nothing You could request or require of me that I could ever do to deserve or repay Your great sacrificial love. Thank You with all my heart. Amen.

When We Are Bombarded by Immoral Messages
Lord, so much of what we see around us is discouraging! We are bombarded daily with messages that try to convince us that we, who love You and want to obey You, are old-fashioned and out-of-step with present realities. We are expected to conform to standards that we know are not Your standards. Certain leaders of our nation and its courts have passed laws that fly in the face of Your laws. We have become a nation that defies the express commands given by You in You Word. Because of this we know that, unless we repent and turn away from our wickedness, we cannot hope to escape Divine punishment. Therefor we pray earnestly for our beloved Nation and its confused leaders and courts. Raise up God-fearing people who will redirect the downward spiral of our Land and its godless culture. For Jesus’ sake … Amen.
