Rev. James Grumbine is Lead Pastor of Discover Church in Camp Hill, PA. He has pastored five churches in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maine and California. Born in Lewistown, PA, Rev. Grumbine also served his denomination as Assistant Superintendent of The Central Pacific District of The Christian and Missionary Alliance – his region of oversight including churches in Utah, Nevada, Northern California and Hawaii.
A sacred and classically trained musician, Pastor Grumbine enjoys multiple musical styles including classical, blues, jazz, and assorted artists from his ’70s-80s time-warp’. He received formal education at Nyack College (NY), University of the State of NY/Albany, Elizabethtown College (PA), and Fuller Theological Seminary (CA). His academic concentrations have included theology, intercultural studies, music theory, European history, English and American literature. He has had numerous articles published in his denomination’s magazine Alliance Life, and writes the blogs for the Discover Church web site. He has addressed multiple language groups in several countries, and serves as a church consultant for his denomination.
Pastor Jim and wife Barbara of Allentown, PA (an employee of Hilton Hotels) have three adult children living in Maine, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. The Grumbines especially enjoy music, travel and spending time with family and friends. They also enjoy the companionship of their Weimaraner, Maya!
Pastor Grumbine believes that every person has the God-given potential to become significant in the Kingdom of God. More than anything else, his personal ministry goals are focused on helping people discover vital relationships with God – and maximize each individual’s success as a Christ follower!
